Northern VA Newborn: Your First Breath

Now that the rush of the season (photography-wise. let’s not talk about prepping for the actual 25th) is winding down, I wanted to take a moment to blog about a recent Northern VA newborn session from last month!

What I remember the most about this session, other than the beautiful moments where this mama and HER mama were in the same frame, were gorgeous details about the nursery… the wallpaper, the wallpaper and crib as seen in a mirror (omg love), and a framed print that read, “Your first breath took ours away.”

I love when I am able to photograph a family before the new addition arrives, and this was one of those special maternity/newborn combos. What I’ve learned, being a part of these big changes, is that time pulls you along whether you’re ready or you’re digging your feet into the ground, so look around, notice the colors, where the furniture sits, breathe in the air, and embrace those around you.
