So we get to hang out soon? {Families/Newborns}
Let’s chat real quick (kind of quick?) about some things to keep in mind during our time together!
What do I do during my session?
- Keep your family happy (this is your most important job). Don’t worry much about posing or looking right at me (that will happen naturally, and I will let you know if everyone needs to look my way). Let your kids warm up to me and this situation, and enjoy themselves. Tickle them, play with them, hug them.
- Where to stand/be? Close to your loved ones. If we’re taking group photos, leave as little space between everyone as possible.
- What to do with my hands? Relax them! If you need something to think about doing with them, rest a hand on someone in your family, fiddle with your hair, your shirt, jewelry, put a thumb in your pocket.
Wardrobe considerations
- Consider wearing shoes you’re comfortable walking in grass with. Often, I will walk us into a field or maybe to the beginning of a trail, and this may not be the best time for fancy shoes. Please note that I do try to keep the messiest activities for the end!
- Check the forecast! While I keep an eye on weather for precipitation, I leave wardrobe decisions based on the temperature to you. Bring extra layers if you think you’ll need them, and we’ll remove them as we can.
What to do if things are crazy/you’re running late/are lost
Text me! Email works, as well, but obviously there may be a little more of a delay. While there are times I cannot extend our session time after starting a little late (especially in the case of minis, or other times I have multiple sessions scheduled in one location), I always try to accommodate as best I can.
Wellness check
Please remember that in the time of COVID (but not just COVID, but the flu, and crappy colds), I am still cautious, for my own family and for yours, and my other clients’, and still would like to avoid illness and a disruption to my business when possible. Please reply and let me know if you have any concerns about symptoms that you may have. I am quite flexible with my scheduling to allow for rescheduling for wellness concerns. Please err on the side of caution. Thank you!
